Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+

How does the Toyota Highlander keep you safe, you may ask? The answer is with Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+, Toyota’s most intuitive suite of safety features that are designed to alert you when danger may be imminent and even help you avoid numerous situations. These standard features include:

• Pre-Collision System with Low Light Pedestrian Detection—using a camera and radar, this feature can limit damage from a collision with a vehicle or pedestrian or avoid it altogether depending on the situation. The system will brake automatically if you’re unable to.
• Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control—drive at a preset speed, which will adjust based on the speed of vehicles in front of you by using vehicle-to-vehicle distance control.
• Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist—provides audio and visual warnings if it detects that you’re swerving into another lane. You’ll automatically be gently steered back into the middle of your lane if you’re unable to do so.
• Lane Tracing Assist—when lane markers are visible, this feature can help keep your vehicle centered.
• Automatic High Beams—you can use these to see more clearly at night at speeds higher than 25 MPH. The system can detect headlights and taillights of passing vehicles, and can switch between high and low beams depending on the situation.

Also included with Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+ is Road Sign Assist, which is designed to see multiple signs, including speed limit signs, stop signs, Do Not Enter signs, a yield sign, and are all displayed on the Multi-Information Display.
