Perhaps the most important area of the Corolla you’ll want to check out is its powertrain. This quite literally drives the experience the sedan can provide. Under the hood is a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that produces 139 horsepower and 126 lb-ft of torque.
The Corolla’s engine is also paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This works to find an ideal gear ratio, optimizing gear shifting and performance. You’ll find that this transmission helps the sedan earn an impressive EPA-estimated 30 city/38 highway MPG.1 So, you won’t have to worry about making frequent stops to refuel.
As for the interior, you’ll find plenty of space for you and your passengers to sit comfortably. The sedan is designed with 88.6 cubic feet of passenger volume and 13.1 cubic feet of cargo volume. This will enable you to seat up to five passengers with room to store shopping bags, luggage, or any other equipment you might have.

If you find that you need additional storage room, the Corolla also comes with the features to accommodate. Utilizing the 60/40 split fold-down rear seat, you can fold the back seats down and create room for any larger items you might have.
On the inside, you’ll also find several great amenities that will further enhance your comfort and convenience behind the ten and two. In terms of multimedia, the 7-inch display audio system will keep you constantly connected on the go via Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, and Amazon Alexa compatibilities.
The 2022 Corolla is also outfitted with an air conditioning system with a pollen filter. This will keep the air in your cabin cool and clean, protecting you against harsh pollen!
Speaking of protection, the Corolla is configured with a wealth of safety and driver-assistive technology. The sedan features a Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 (TSS 2.0) suite that comes with a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. This feature will work to detect obstructions and prevent any potential frontal collisions, should there be any.
This suite also comes with:
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Automatic High Beams
- Road Sign Assist
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
These systems will work to keep you safe behind the wheel and make your drives easier.
